From the 1962 Martyrologium Romanum (Martyrology) for the feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Rosary:
Festum beatæ Mariæ Virginis a Rosario; itemque sanctæ Mariæ de Victoria commemoratio, quam sanctus Pius Quintus, Pontifex Maximus, ob insignem victoriam a Christianis bello navali, eiusdem sanctissimæ Dei Genitricis auxilio, hac ipsa die de Turcis reportatam, quotannis fieri instituit.
The Feast of the Most Holy Rosary of the blessed Virgin Mary, and the commemoration of St. Mary of Victory, which Pope Pius V instituted to be kept yearly in memory of the great victory granted on this day in a naval battle to the Christians over the Turks, by the help of the Mother of God.
